Best feeling after a long shift? Taking your hair down, earrings off, and shoes and bra off. Oh my god, now I just need a shower.
the best thing about the internet is that eye contact doesnt exist
first thought: This (insert expletive) is so dumb.
let me first preface this by saying that I haven’t read any of the books, and I probably never will as it seems that the show is covering everything fairly well.
but one thing that annoys the shit out of me is when I see these posts like OMG SANSA IS SO GREAT/BETTER THAN YOUR FAVES/YOUR FAVES COULD NEVER/etc because I’m like
um
sansa was a huuuuuuuuuge asshole. until the very last episode of the season. and I love asshole characters but she spent 98% of the season being unpleasant and insufferable. so what are you people going on about. is it because of the books?
No, its not because of the books.
Okay, Sansa is a flawed character. No one denies that she has her flaws like every other character in the series…
She makes mistakes, she regrets her mistakes. She has dreams, and her dreams are shattered. She is a little girl with fantasies and a pure heart, but she can still be a stubborn child like we all were at her age. I love Sansa because I see myself in her. I see my dreams and hopes, I see stubborn loyalty, I see mistakes, I see growth, I see naivety, and I see innocence.
But she gets most of my love because she’s real. She goes through real changes. She faces some of the greatest masterminds of the entire series — Littlefinger, Cersei, Varys — and she learns from them. She endures horrible things, and she still stands tall. She still tries to keep her heart pure after everything that has happened to her family. She might not learn as fast as we would want her too because she still hopes for the best in people, but she still learns.
And you know what? She’s outlasted a lot of other characters.
Sansa is beautiful.
…So it’s the books.
On a personal note, “we all” were not like that at 13. I damn sure wasn’t.
I do like Sansa in the TV show, although I didn’t at first because of her behavior. But she grew on me near the ending. But yes, you are correct. Sansa in the book series = GLORIOUS. She is nowhere near as bratty or bitchy as she is in the show. She is highly intelligent and strong (even though I think she is in the show as well) and yes, she is a little “feminine” than most people would like, but it doesn’t make me appreciate her any less. In fact, in the books, I found Arya to be quite annoying. It’s strange how mature they make Arya to be in the show and Sansa to be bitchy but in the books, Arya is really rash and doesn’t think about anything whereas Sansa is more composed and pleasant. I will never be able to rewatch the first series without feeling a certain level of disdain for how they characterized Sansa now that I know what she was really supposed to have been like :/
See, that’s all. I’ve been wanting to post about my Sansa feelings for a while now, but I’ve been worried that it’s gonna turn into a circular argument where I go “I don’t like Sansa on the show, and I don’t know why you think I’d like her based on what I’ve seen.” And someone else answers with “Yeah but you don’t know what she goes through in the books!!! #team sansa”
It’s the books. I’m almost done.
